For months now aku duk kumpul barang2 yang we're not using anymore and all of my babies outgrown clothes and toys yg worth selling. You don't know, these kids Amru Wafa, badan je kecik tuek and kurus krekek tapi barang2 diorang take over most of our space. I mean their cradle and swing are so bulky and tricycles and cars yg boleh duduk tu (7 bijik, I counted) and their rocking horse lah rocking donkey lah, you'd be surprised I managed to keep the house so tidy (haha lewls of the day). Oh, I forgot to mention their kitchen appliances like their blender n food processer to make their baby food, the bottle steamer sterilizer, their bottle warmer lagi etc oh this is never gonna end.
So, I kumpul all this barang (oh ok now I feel bad coz asyik kata the kids are the cause of the clutter, sorry Amru Wafa I don't mind pon sebenarnya it's just a fact that memang ur stuff banyak gila, but it's not just your stuff. Banyak juga barang2 lain yg belong to...wait for it...your dad!! Hahaha! Don't get me started on the tiga guni of kasuttttt. Yeah, your dad the shoe hoarder. Heeeheee).
Alaa no time to feel bad about saying that! *blows nails* :p
Ok sambung. So I kumpul all that stuff kat bilik bibik (oh what a blessing my bibik is gone, coz can dump loads of stuff in her room #maidlessbuthappy ).
And its been months but yesterday we found the time and energy to get up real early and drag the kids too and go to carboot at Kota Damansara to get rid of everything. Dua buah kereta kot. Save bajet takyah sewa lori. Err, its called carboot not lorryboot.
Well, aku rasa mcm soo awal already pergi carboot rupanya2 dah penuh carpark dengan seller lain. We all last one kot. Nasib baik dapat park satu kereta, sebuah lagi terpaksa blocking the road ahaks.
Belum apa lagi, baru put out the tikar getah to lay everything on it a few people dah datang tunggu depan kitorg. When we unloaded our stuff on the ground whoaaa you should see the crowd!!! Like tiny black ants hurung strawberry flavoured candy! Some even helped me unload our stuff from the boot, while tangan never stop to belek2 everything inside. Amru Wafa pon dah terkebil2 and blur tak tau nak buat apa as all these strangers came to attack everything we unloaded. At that point I knew my life was going to change. Felt like a celebrity *whateves*
I intai tengok kat tapak sellers lain but nobody had that many people pakat duk kerumun around them like our tapak. A few times I had to ask them to move back. As people kept trying to get my attention asking for the price of the things they were interested to buy, others kept pressuring us to unload all the other stuff from our cars. There were sooo many people I tell you! Tiap kali unload something pon people berebut nak ambil. Life can't get more chaotic than this I thought.
We actually brought hangers and clothes rails to hang the clothes nicely but didnt even have the chance to do that, just left the stuff sprawled on the floor for people to grab. The last thing we unloaded which caused even more chaos was the guni full of Aiman, the shoe hoarder's, shoes. It made the guys go all crazy believe me.
But you also believe me when I say after all the commotion, and the crowd just died down a bit, we realised two pairs of Aiman's shoes were missing! The really nice ones which we were selling at RM 190 a pair. We were like WHAT??!! Kat carboot pon nak curi??!! Memang they took advantage of us since we failed to control the crowd. Sedih but no worries, that is saham akhirat.
By 11 we were exhausted, crowd pon dah kurang, we lelong whatever was left at really cheap tak masuk akal price. Like clothes for RM 1 and toys for 10 sen and then balik rumah tidur.
I never expected this kind of response. Tu yg jadi tak boleh control the crowd. But I definitely learnt something and would use it for my next carboot sale (like maybe 10 years from now considering how long I took to hold this one).
1. Use tables: like those folding tables. You can use them as a barrier so people can't get too close to you so you have the time and space to unload other things.
2. Just one shoe will do: no need to take out both shoes yet, just one shoe will do for people to see. Gotta learn from mistakes. I mean, who's gonna steal just one shoe kan?
3. Err, I ran out of tips so can I go now? *puts paperbag over head, cover malu*
Nak bagi tips konon.
