island in the sun

My darlings hubs is full of surprises. Actually bukan surprise pon but he isn't the type who plans stuff.
So off we went to Redang Island (again. Baru je pergi a few months ago). This time we stayed the night.

Ya Allah cantiknye subhanallah.
Panas gila but don't care. I just looovee island vacations!

Hati meronta2 nak dive into the sea 🏊🏾 <-- yup, this emoji how im gonna look like after being toasted by the sun.☀️

This kid memang hantu snorkeling. He could go for hours. And totally ignoring me.

Please don't ask me berapa bulan dah. It's the wind!

So gonna build myself a little cottage and stay here forever. What?? Uia?! Apa tu? Never heard of that word. #donttellmyboss

Usually it would be me nagging them to go mandi (including the big grown man there 😂) but this time mandi for hours and hours tak nak balik.

The food was great! Hence his cutie pie face.

Cameron Highlands: A short getaway

Last weekend, pergi Ipoh kenduri kawin. With the in laws. Distant relative. Tanya Aiman, aduh jenuh dia nak explain pertalian darah antara dia dengan pengantin. Haha.

Well, the kids sure had fun dapat jumpa dgn cousins yg jarang sangat dapat jumpa.

See, I told you they had so much fun!

But let me tell you this, Ipoh is SO hot! Like 10 times hotter than KL.
So it was an unplanned trip but we drove all the way (through jalan berliku sampai pening and mabuk bersaksikan orang asli yg berniaga sepanjang jalan) to Cameron Highlands just to wash away the heat from our red and sweaty faces. Okay, over lah tu. #dramaqueen

Just a one night trip but had a great time with family. And of course the photos and strawberries are great!

Photos:

Can't remember how many shots I had to take before I got to this one here:

What transpired before:

😂😂😂 #nasibmotheroftwo

Not forgetting strawberries! Can you believe we lived in UK for 4 years tapi tak pernah go strawberry picking? Last2 kat cameron baru sibuk nak pergi. *Sigh* #nasibdisorganisedpeoplelikeme

What to do in Tokyo

What to do in Tokyo (if you are Amru or Wafa. Or their parents) 😂

Japan. For a week we were there on vacation. You would have thought kitorang pergi sebab nak jalan2, tengok gunung fuji, makan sushi sambil pakai kimono and do all the japanese stuff blablabla. But the sole purpose of staying there for a week: ULTRAMAN, HELLO KITTY and...the latest obsession GREAT ANIMAL KAISER.

So memang kitorang stayyy kat Tokyo je lah. Cari tiga benda tu. Hahaha. Hey, all three are Japanese enough. As japanese as any japanese can be, so fair enough right?!

What we did:
1. Shop for Ultraman and raksaksa mereka til we drop. At various places. For 5 days. I counted. Equivalent to tiga guni beras worth of Ultraman. Pengsan. Rumah aku lepas ni boleh renovate jadi "Ultraman Museum".

Where? We went to Biqlo (adik beradik Uniqlo tu) at Shinjuku, and the Ultraman World M78 store at Tokyo Character Street (near Tokyo Station), and got tons of rare and collectors items at Hobby Off.

2. Played Great Animal Kaiser. And collected their Japanese version cards. So cool! Written in Japanese instead of the normal English ones we usually get back in Malaysia.
Where? Yodobashi Camera Akihabara.
(Station: Akihabara. 5 minute walk)
For 3 days berkampung kat depan mesin GAK tu. Go there on weekdays sure takda orang and you can hog the machine all day.

3. Hello Kitty shopping. These kitties are everywhere in Tokyo!! But if you're buying merchandise then go to the Hello Kitty or Sanrio shops. Cute nak pengsan.
Where? Everywhere pon ada! Kat Tokyo Character Street, dekat dengan kedai M78 But the best and biggest is Sanrioworld in Ginza. Got this statue of Hello Kitty and My Melody makes you wanna just stay there and take photos ❤️

4. Disneyland!!! Lovely lovely place! I would loovvee to live there! And move into Minnie Mouse's house be neighbors with Minnie Mouse💕🎀 Siap snap gambar rumah dia banyak2 sebab nak tiru.

Bangkok: Day 3

Day 3 in Bangkok.
The hotel served the most amazing kuaw tiew goreng. Menamboh2 aku makang. #stayawayfromthishotel #makingmefat
I might just come back to that hotel next time just for the breakfast hehe. Even tho it is located quite a distance from some main attractions.

Todays plan was to go to the floating market. Located in Damnoen Saduak (had to google the spelling) which is around 2 hours from our hotel. Jauh gile ok.

We took a lovely boat ride to the centre of the market. I was told that you could only take the boat kalau ikut tour package. Tak tahu lah. It was a 30 minute ride along the canals. Tengok kampung2 orang, each house ada sebutir sampan, so cool man! And best of all the kids really enjoyed the ride.

Bangkok: Day 2

Breakfast kat hotel. Sedap weh! Its just nasi goreng (kao phad) but with these nice sliced sweet sausages. So much for my diet.

Program pagi ini: visit the Grand Palace. It was sooooo hot! But the temple and palace was beautiful! Glistening in the sun pula! A must go lah. But if you're bringing small children then I think better bring a stroller coz the walk is quite far. Of course there are some areas where ada steps tapi tak banyak pon.

The ultimate attraction at the Grand Palace is the Buddha statue made of jade. And this statue change "clothes" three times a year. Fashionista.

It was so hot I could practically feel the jeragats growing on my face. Then cari air nyiur mudo. Taste SO good.

Next we went to get some food. There is a halal eatery hidden kat belakang2 bangunan near the masjid in Banglamphung (correct spelling??). Kuay tiew celup dia is to DIE FOR. This is Bangkok mi celup not like the Patani one I usually eat at Taman Permata. (Tip: you must add a teaspoon of sugar and another teaspoon of chilli powder).

Perut kenyang alhamdulillah after 2 mangkuk of mi celup.
Next stop is this mall called MBK. Shopping 1 hour je, the kids were exhausted, stroller tertinggal kat hotel. Padan muka. Kene dukung sorang satu.

Balik hotel for two hours and then to our next destination: the dinner cruise! Ive never been on a cruise before so kinda excited!

We set off quite early at 5:30 (takut traffic jam), reached the pier at around 6:30, lepak at the River City mall near the pier. We were greeted by these Thai women dressed in traditional thai costumes and the pinned these orchids on our shirt #feelinglikeachristmastree. (They will make you pay for the photos later on the cruise. 200 Baht. Not worth it).
We go on board the cruise around 8:45 so lets see some bored faces while waiting.

So yeah we redah this bunch serenading us dengan lagu mereka 😂 and went on board the Chao Phraya Princess. Okay la the dinner buffet. Dinner they say its halal. Well, they dont have pork for sure. But we avoided the chicken n beef etc coz not so yakin, but there were plenty of fish and seafood that I (definitely) gobble gobble. #ontherighttracktokurusness #somuchformydiet

It was a lovely 2 hours on the cruise. With the food and the music and the view and most importantly of course the company (family!).

By the time the cruise buat U-turn nak balik the kids were already like this:

Balik hotel. Sambung tidur.

Places visited:

Grand Palace

Not recommended for kids. Bring a stroller if you have to.
Bring a hat or umbrella. and lots of cold ice water. Oh and deodorant.
Fees? I don't know. It's included in the tour package.

Dinner Cruise
Pon I don't know. #feelinguseless

Bangkok: Day 1

Ive been to Bangkok many times before. By flight lah, by train lah. Even by car. One of my most favouritestest place to visit. But this time its different. Coz Amru and Wafa pon ikut as well as my parents and brother. Kinda like a family trip but minus 5 others 😔. Takpe lah kan next time ada lagi.

We finally reached Don Mueang airport after a one hour flight delay. *Sigh* tapi takpe lah kan sebab dapat tiket murah kena lah redho.

And because of that delay, we reached Bangkok kinda late and was during peak hours pulak. Imagine the horrible KL traffic jam, and multiply that by ten. Aarghh!!! Takpe redho.
So we solat first coz definitely wont make it in time if solat at hotel. There is a really nice musolla at the first floor of the arrival hall.

We were greeted by the Royal Thai Tour with this jaw dropping van! Alaa macam van yg masuk rancangan Pimp My Ride tu. Hihi. Set darat like me tak pernah naik kereta fancy macam ni.

There you go! Wafa fefeeling jadi princess.

Took a video as well. Will upload later. When I do, please watch out for the over excited grandparents hehehe.

Siling kereta made of mirrors and lights 😍. #jakun

Ok memang confirm ni set2 darak hahaha.

The drive to our hotel was supposed to be half an hour je but because of the traffic jam our peruts insisted we have an early dinner.

We stopped at this lovely cozy halal restaurant called Sophie Restaurant. And these pictures say everything!

Tod man pla

Creamy tom yam kung with mushroom

Sotong celup tepung. With that clear sweet sauce.

Namtok sea bass. So spicy but the best ever!

They even had these fancy plates and cutlery for kids.

Tap tim crop for dessert.

Im sure you are impressed sebab aku pandai tulis ikut bahasa siam hahahahahaha. But, its just nama makanan je yg aku reti. Benda lain im useless. But hey, at least I wont die of hunger in Bangkok. #coziknowhowtoorderfood hahahaha.
