What usually happens on raya morning is this:

I will oversleep (because ada malam raya party with the family - our tradition -hence I will makan banyak and fall into a food coma). Will end up waking up late and rushing to go for solat raya. Moreover, those two kids of mine will not wake up until I put a speaker to their ears and scream last call for Amru and Wafa, we are going to leave you now. Okay, I'm kidding. I'm not that zalim. And the outcome is -- no family raya photo. Or even if we get to snap one or two, my makeup wont be on point (macam la biasanya on point sangat kan? 😒), Wafa's hair would look like mok bey gilo, Amru would have no songkok to wear (sebab Mama dia being a last minute person tak jumpa cari songkok) and many more.

So knowing this would happen, we decided to take beautiful family portraits the day before raya. So we dressed up in raya outfits that afternoon before the malam raya party. Very good plan indeed.

Although I still look like I did before puasa. Didn't shed any pounds 😭

raya preparations

Before Ramadan began I took a peek at my Raya Resolution which I drafted a year ago. What?! I actually have a Raya Resolution list? #sedihlahkalaupercaya

Well, if there was one then this is what it would look like:

1. Baju raya for all four of us I will tempah awal2. Like two months before raya. With the kain that I bought the other day.

2. Finish painting the house.

3. Baju raya for the cats.

4. All raya gift I will get by first week of Ramadan. Siap bungkus and everything.

5. Kuih raya buat sendiri. Especially that yummy sarang semut that I used to make back in UK.

What actually happened this year:

1.EVERYTHING LAST MINUTE nothing got done seriously. Kain silk yg aku beli hari tu still duk sekong je dlm plastic.

Nasib baju budak2 sempat beli tu pon saiz tak de so kena minta tolong Cik Hajar si in-house tailor at Telekung TEA to alter mengikut size.

Paling kesian I myself got no baju then got a brilliant idea to put some lace on my old baju.

Hey, turned out all right kan?

2. House still looks like that. So much for all the buckets of paint that I bought at the hardware store 😂

3. Like seriously? Who even wrote this in the list? No, I did not get any baju raya for the cats!

4. Got raya gifts for family only the day before raya...sooo last minute!!! Nasib baik I actually own Telekung TEA and their tagline is "The Perfect Gift. Everytime" -- just drop by and grab stuff. Saved me alot of trouble 😂.

5. Kuih raya of course tak buat sendiri. Although if you look at my pantry can see all the tepung and sugar and baking stuff 😂 Hey, its the niat that counts.

I hate myself for being so disorganised but don't worry, I will make a new raya resolution for next year and save myself all this headache. This time with a timeline. And will stick to it! Hmm, we'll see about that 😂

Only 88 more to go

Oh God! When will this end? Although I love my job as a law teacher but when it comes to marking final exam scripts, sometimes it's just too overwhelming for me.

1) First of all, it's the number of scripts that make me want to pengsan in the first place. 61 for one course and another 88 for another course, that makes 149. But to sedapkan hati I think to myself, hey that's because I'm so popular 😂 #padahalthestudentshadnochoicebuttotakeupmyclass #kesian

2) Second, there's the handwriting. Oh my! Some are really neat and tidy which stresses me out too because I keep wondering how she (most probably a SHE lah) managed to do that throughout the 10 pages. (And I can't!) And those whose handwriting are literally horrible then that stresses me out as well for obvious reasons. I will propose to my boss that in the future we should have final exams by voice recording only 😁

3) And the third but actually most stressful reason is because THEY ARE NOT ANSWERING THE QUESTION! In this case I don't really put the blame on my students. Rather, it's just depressing because I feel like a failure, like I did not do enough on my part to make them fully understand the subject. 😭 Sedih kan?

Ok lah, that's all rintihan hati and luahan perasaan of a law teacher who only has a few more days left until she gonna be butchered for not submitting results on time. 😂

Gotta stop all this nonsense and get back to work right now 😁 BYE!

New obsession: Surihati Mr Pilot

The kind of dramas I watch: Prison Break...Suits...and...ermm that's it! Coz I don't watch much TV 😂 (no time, not interested).

BUT, entah macamana I terrr-watch Surihati Mr Pilot 4th episode last Thursday and...OMGGGGG!!! Made me so angau and lost in thought cannot stop sengih from ear to ear.

Pastu straightaway aku cari balik yg episodes 1-3 streaming depan screen laptop. Berjam-jam pula. Totally ignore every single unfinished work (yang memang banyak sangat pon) that I have. Siap ulang balik episode 4 yg dah tengok sebelum tu.

And then I ask myself....what have I gotten myself into?! Slides and notes utk kelas esok belum siap. Takkan nak mengajar pasal Surihati Mr Pilot kat kelas Land Law and Public International Law esok?!

Eh wait! Maybe...just MAYbe I can talk about how the Civil Aviation Act is a restriction on the right to enjoy airspace as one of the natural rights that come with ownership of land. Because you cannot bring an action for trespass by reason only of the flight of an airplane which is driven by the pilot. Hmm...yeah, I could use that. 😂 #mybossisgoingtokillme

Okay, so here I list down reasons why you should NOT watch Surihati Mr Pilot:

1. Ejaz and Warda and just SO SO SO SO SO sweeeeeet together! Sampai tahap I'm watching the drama on tiptoes while biting my lips and just staring at them in awe. Kinda nerve wrecking.

2. Neelofa and Fattah Amin are soooo made for eachother. And so sweet too! (Have I not mentioned that already?!) Sampai tahap I desperately nakkkk sangat sangat mereka kawin in real life! #areejiscrazy

3. Neelofa's outfits are all WOW! Perfect ensemble everytime! Sampai jadi macam satu masalah pulak coz ermmm...I NEED the outfits!

4. It just makes you angau and have that dreamy look for hours and hours even after drama dah habis.

And despite all of the above, I can't wait to watch the next episode tomorrow night. *sigh*
