So my little baby boy is now in...(wait for it)...primary school! Haa? Tua nya aku.
He is doing fine but the one having a hard time trying to adjust to this new situation is me.
Apa yang hard time sangat tu, Areej?
Well...
Gotta make sure the correct books are in his school bag according to his class time table.
So, of course, CANNOT lose the time table like I lose any other kertas.
Gotta make sure his uniform dah basuh and sumbat dalam dryer because CANNOT ponteng school just because I forgot to wash his uniform.
Like I did when he was in preschool.
Gotta remember to put baju PE, and gotta remember what day he got PE. And his swimming stuff, and what day he has swimming. Taekwondo too.
Banyak betul uniform. Macam baju persalinan pengantin pulak.
One day my head's gonna get em all jumbled up and he will end up wearing his swimming outfit to PE.
And the hardest of all is, CANNOT tidur after subuh coz he gotta be in school before 8:00 am.
Adehh...
So if you see a crazy woman carrying a school bag in one hand and holding a kid's hand in the other running at top speed in the school compound chanting "Hurry! Hurry!" you know who it is.
Sounds so poyo and manja eh this post, I mean, everybody else buat kerja ni on a daily basis. But for me, the kind of person I am (busy, unorganised, and cannot care less about anything, and maid-less and got no PA -- again, a very poyo statement), I must say I am proud that I am making that effort.
It's like, for 16 years after I finished my SPM I didn't have to rush to school in the morning, and now I'm back in school again.
Welcome back to school, Areej! For another 12 years.
P.S. This post is supposed to be about my son Amru, but now it sound like it's about me. Again very poyo. Sorry, Amru. Oh well, Next time lah I blog about Amru's first day in school.
